Are you a STAR??
We have chosen an
exciting profession in the Communications Electronics
industry. Technology is moving at a rate unprecedented
in our country’s history, and we are at the forefront.
The work we do is supporting our armed forces by
delivering state of the art solutions and services that
save lives every day. I am honored to be a part of
this community. I know you are as well.
We
have a unique opportunity to help others in our
community to become engaged in this career path by
volunteering our time and talents to our high school
students. Young people may or may not recognize what
our service people do for us every day and the critical
need for an ever expanding need for engineering
professionals to make sure our soldiers have the tools
they need to be successful and safe.
AFCEA Ft Monmouth
chapter’s STAR program needs volunteers to make
themselves available for periodic calls, emails or other
discussions that might help a High School student work
through a project or complete a grant application.
Some of the areas of
interest of students are:
-
Facility tours of your company
-
Assembly Speakers
-
Technology discussions and
demonstrations
-
Assisting Science Teachers in
filling out the AFCEA grant applications
-
Ideas for as well as
coordination of Field trips
-
Being an e-mail advisor
providing career, science or engineering guidance
-
Assisting teachers with
curriculum development
-
Internship program
We appreciate your
support in any one or more of these areas to support our
up and coming engineers in Monmouth and Ocean county
high schools. So, if you think its worth a small amount
of your time.. why not be a STAR!
